The Light In the Hall
The Light in the Hall is a psychological thriller written and created by RTS winning writer Regina Moriarty. This series was shot back-to-back in English and Welsh throughout the winter 2021/22 in co-production with Triongl. It has already aired for S4C to huge critical acclaim, and we are excited for its C4 premier in January 2023. This is the first co-production between S4C and C4 and we are already in development on Season Two.
S4C Drama Commissioner, Gwenllian Gravelle said: “This gripping drama certainly promises to be one to remember. With a stellar cast and a talented production team, we can’t wait to introduce Y Golau to S4C viewers”.
Written and created by Regina Moriarty (Murdered By My Boyfriend) and directed by Andy Newbery (Keeping Faith) and Chris Forster (Hidden), The Light / Y Golau boasts a truly outstanding cast including Alexandra Roach (Killing Eve), Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) and Joanna Scanlan (After Love).
The Making Of The Light
The Light / Y Golau is a psychological thriller. The story centres on journalist Cat Donato (Roach), who has always been fascinated by the murder of a young girl from her own town. The news of murderer Joe (Rheon) being released causes both Cat and the dead girl’s mother Sharon (Scanlan) to confront the past and the part they played. For Cat it’s a chance to write the true events surrounding the murder and for Sharon a chance to confront the man who killed her child. With so many questions unanswered, Joe’s return to the community could be a way to get to the bottom of the mystery once and for all. If Joe Thomas did kill Ela, why did he do it, and where is the body?
